Nothing is as effective as a cleanse. So why is it that they sound like such a turn off? I just finished a 21 day cleanse, no sugar, no carbs, no fermented foods. It was pretty great. I basically did this cleanse to support my bf.
When we think about water we rarely think how much it affects our bodily functions. This clear liquid is vital to us. Our body is approximately 65% water. We need to drink water daily just to replenish that which we naturally lose daily every time we sweat, go to the bathroom or even when we breathe. We need water for digestion and removal of waste which are pretty important for our body to function optimally aka us having a healthy body = good life. Nutrients need us to remove as much waste as possible in order for them to have room to come in and nurture all of our cells. There are approximately 37 trillion cells in the average human body. Thats a lot of cells! So the more we sweat and pee, the more toxins we are getting rid of and the more room we give nutrients to come in and do their job.
Tomorrow will be Taco Tuesday at my place, so I went to my local supermarket, got the usual ingredients, 1lb of grass feed (grass finished) ground beef, tomatoes, lettuce, taco shells, everything healthy or so I thought...
Another Valentine's day is here, I think that's awesome... well, if we focus on the positive that is, otherwise its just another lame scheme to make us spend money on bs that doesn't even come close to representing a true act of love... right?
I hope your holidays were as wonderful as mine, I had the gift of going home to Santiago, Chile to spend the iconic dates with my family, my boyfriend joined in and we got the chance to show him intense Patagonia and the busy V region, which meant beautiful beaches and really nice restaurants. Overall it was magical!
Its unbelievable, the holiday season is upon us, and as we move from our over stuffed belly's from our latest Thanksgiving to the up and coming Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and New Years, its undeniable that our feelings for self preservation arise, we fear we could falter, and mess things up, by over eating, or drinking, or maybe we forget to get a present, or just seem to be running around trying to get that someone special exactly what they want.
I was watching the weather forecast and OMG this Friday will be the first day in the 30's. Its official, winter is coming!!!!! When I first moved to NYC I was scared about the cold in winter, I've been living for the last 15 years in really warm weather places and I did not feel prepared at all, I mean I didn't even own a winter coat.
A few months back, I was listening to the amazing David Avocado Wolfe speak, and of the many interesting things he spoke about that day he mentioned C 60 Charcoal. I like to try lots of what David Wolfe suggests because i think he is so knowledgeable regarding longevity, its his lifetime's research!
Work! Ugh! or AWESOME! if you love what you do, that is. I have pursued many different careers in my life so I totally get the difference of how it feels when you are just barely making it on time to the job that allows you to pay the bills vs. I cannot believe how time flew today, and you are still working hard but its such a great feeling when you are feeling happy at work.
When i lived in Miami i learned Tibetan meditation, the meditation i practiced was particular in the sense that you practiced with your eyes open, the point of this was to bring the meditative state to any situation you are in, as opposed to closing your eyes and achieving a sort of dream state.
Going to IIN really, REALLY, changed the way i look at food. Alright so you eat something and then what? Well food goes down, gets to your belly and, well ,it becomes you... It is a reality, we truly are what we eat! That food becomes you! yep and me too.
When i first arrived in New York me and my boyfriend thought going into Real Estate would be a great idea for me. Being a Licensed Massage Therapist for 15 years, I did not want to go back school to get my NYC certification, so it felt like the perfect time to start a new career, Very exiting!!
The only consistent thing about life is change. Thats right!! Change. I know the majority of people with whom i have spoken about change usually say they hate it, but think about it. as one moment begins it starts to end, you were a child and now you are grown, who you were as a child is not who you are today, you changed.
I have been reflecting on bio-individuality lately, and i must say i find it both groundbreaking and sort of obvious at the same time. I really got to understand how different people are a long time ago, I had a bf and we were just not getting along, I was doing everything right but he was in what seemed to me another dimension,
